No ego, no problem

"Life is meant to be lived in eternal joy, infinite freedom, unconditional love and unbounded awareness. Any other life is utterly missing the point of being born a human."

— Maharishi Sadashiva Isham

Don't settle for less.

That's my mantra for this week.

But we do, don't we?

We think that problems and suffering are part of life, an inevitable part of being human …

That trouble in life is just the way it is.

Right?

But what if that wasn’t true?

That life could be infinitely better, fuller and richer?

"What if?", indeed!

I’ve never been so sure that life is what we make it – it’s how we define it.

Life isn’t done to us; life is all about our attitude to it.

We choose.

We choose our attitude, our approach, and we can change that attitude at any time.

This choice makes a world of difference – a whole existence of difference – between a life of “Why?” (as in “Why is this happening to me?”) and a life of “Wow!” (as in full of engagement and presence and gratitude).

This attitude doesn’t need to change when life changes …

In fact life is too short to wait for life to look exactly the way we want it to.

Our attitude comes first, it’s our foundation, and is independent of what life brings us.

The other thing is the necessity of present moment living.

Sure, you can learn from the past, you will make plans for the future.

But life can only be lived now.

When you start to change your attitude and live in the present moment, you’ll see that you create your own problems.

When the ego is driving, the only outcome is a poor attitude, time travel, control and trouble.

The fact is that there are no problems when you step outside the ego, here and now in the present moment.

None.

Free of suffering, there is only a complete engagement with what is:

Not wanting to be different, only a full and rich living.

And that’s what we all want – that is at the core of all our most memorable moments …

We all want more aliveness, an engaged, fulfilled, exciting life.

Right?

So –

Use suffering as an indicator of where you are at.

No ego, no problems.

You still have challenges, you’ll still have things that are unexpected and against the plan. You still have to do stuff, you still have to adult …

But it’s fluid, flowing, free. Alive, full of fun.

If a life like this appeals, then don’t settle for less.

Work towards being free of your ego, having an attitude of “Wow!”, and complete immersion in the present.

Set aside the time every day to remember this, to go within and be this.

The result will be that your ego can’t get in.

No ego, no problems.

If you do have problems?

Check your ego … then see what happens to the stress and control and mayhem.

It dissolves. Completely, and quickly.

What is left is truly a life of effectiveness and efficiency and true alignment and calibration with the life you were born to live.

Job done.

Alrighty?

If you need any help with this, just shout. It’s why I’m here.

Go well – and enjoy!
