Take a break – it's crucial

“Sometimes the most urgent and vital thing you can possibly do is take a complete rest.”

Everyone needs a break. A moment in your day, a day in your week, some weeks in your year.

All varieties of taking a break are necessary; vital even.

I’m not prone to exaggeration.

Walking away from life as you know it, is a key part not only of surviving this mad game of life, but well and truly thriving in it.

I went away for a run up a mountain recently, just me and a buddy. I was gone for 9 hours and I came back a changed man.

No – I came back to the very best of me. Energised and thrilled about life … and that bleeds out to everyone and everything around you.

But we don’t realise that do we?

We try and keep like the Energiser Bunny … going and going and going …

And yet we wonder where our sense of humour goes, why our love for life slowly seeps away, why life stops making sense, why we stay awake with worry more and more and more.

Rest and withdrawal is more important than we realise.

So take the time. Make the time. Schedule the time!

I know people who spend 5 hours a day on social media. Do yourself a favour and prioritise the things that feed you, that don’t take from you … and social media is definitely an iffy one in that regard.

Rest and withdrawal alone is beautiful. I do 5 day courses with people and I swear 66.34% of the profound effects come from taking people off the race circuit of their lives.

But –

If you can combine that rest and withdrawal – again, even if it’s for a few minutes a day – with the intention to grow, with a practice that will make you and your life bigger and more Quality in some way …

Man, then you can fly.

It’s in this regard, Ascension meditation changed my life.

Again, I’m not prone to exaggeration, but it truly did.

I needed to make the time to do it, but the tools I was taught showed me how to plug into the power source of the present moment, effortlessly, for longer and longer periods.

I had a way of getting out of the loops of worry or frustration before they had a chance to spin faster and faster.

The clarity of what I needed to do, my intuition about what to say yes and (more importantly) say no to, grew and grew and grew.

It became super obvious who and what fed me and what drained me.

It meant I could live a life where I had nothing to prove, nothing to hide and nothing to fear.

Which, believe me, is worth its weight in gold.

So, there’s taking a break and there’s taking a break that is a springboard to more.

One is a nice breather, the other is a nice breather with the added bonus of a huge bounce forward in terms of personal wellbeing and ability to live a life you’re proud of and excited by.

Realise the importance of taking a break, but also make sure you’re taking a break that gives you more, and more, and more.

Alrighty? And if you want to know about Ascension, just get in touch. I’ll send all the details to you.

Go well,

Arjuna
