“The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty 'yes' to your adventure.”
— Joseph Campbell
I was recently asked: Are goals and ambitions ‘okay’ on a spiritual path?
Yes.
It’s the time of year when these questions naturally surface: What next? What stays? What goes?
Look —
You were born to live a life worth living.
Spirituality isn't about avoiding life; it’s about engaging with it totally and completely. Skilled living requires action, but it also requires contentment in a journey you cannot always control.
“But how do you know what to do, and when?”
Here’s the main point:
More or different is not always better.
As you look toward 2026, don’t adopt a goal or a way forward just because it’s expected of you.
Instead, find what rings true for you in this specific moment.
That clarity is exactly what you gain from a practice like Ascension.
The signal clears on your own inner wisdom. Those grey voices of doubt dampen down, leaving you with enough gumption to actually follow it.
Trust? Maybe.
But I can’t think of a better adventure for a new year. After all, finding your own way forward is the piece that matters most.
It’s rewarding, too. As our man Joseph Campbell said: “The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.”
More yes to what you know. Make it a good one!

PS.
If I could go back in time, I’d recommend to myself that I learn Ascension sooner. I was contemplating it for far too long.
It’s an incredibly simple, easy, yet powerful and enjoyable way back to clear the clutter, stand true in the chaos, and find your way forward.
Next course is 30 Jan - 1 Feb, always free to repeat.
Come along and get yourself on the right foot for the new year.
Get in touch for details. I’d love to help.
