The Source of Aliveness : Finding More Than Escaping

Find peace in chaos … so often the message around meditation and mindfulness stops here.

It’s part – but definitely not all of it.

Not all of us want to sit quietly in our rooms, seeking sanctuary from the tough parts of life.

We want to engage. We want to move forward, to embrace and dance, to have more aliveness, Quality, and that beautiful sense of flow – in every part of life, in everything we do.

We want more, not less.

And well done I say. At the end of the day, this is about discovering a fuller, richer, more complete life.

The fact is, even if you are seeking respite from the slings and arrows of life’s outrageousness, after you find it – and with the right tools and guidance, you most definitely will – you will also get on the train of More.

So define this practice as more than merely relief, or escape, or blocking out … whatever language you use, don’t accidentally set up limitation.

This practice is for total nourishment for ALL areas of your life. There is nowhere it cannot make things more.

It enables you to be more unapologetically You, content and alive in your own skin. Your yes’s become more ready, your no’s more emphatic. You become more courageous, you care less about what others think. You laugh more. You let go and accept quicker, more completely. You find it hard to dwell on the negatives. They’re there, and you’re not ignoring them (in fact you’re dealing with all of that better than ever), it’s just that you can’t find the energy to whine and complain and judge like you used to. Approval and gratitude is so much easier, so much stickier, so much more attractive. You heal and recover quicker, you have more energy, clarity, soul force. You know rightness, you have a sense of purpose and reason.

There’s so much more – the measurable and the invisible yet essential – but I think you get the gist:

This is a practice to get better at your life. To find that state where all is well; and not merely ‘nice’, but total, complete, rich, full. Content AND ready for all the more coming down the pipeline.

It is plugging in to your power source.

So crank it up. A little done is so much better than a lot done not at all.

Very glad we had this conversation and could straighten out all of that.

Quote that’s been bouncing around in my world recently

“The mark of your ignorance is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.”

— Richard Bach

Ooh… how did that land with you? No punches pulled there.

If it annoyed you, why not step back for a mo. Drop your insistences, expectations and judgements, just for a minute.

Widen your awareness. Don’t let it be merely about that political injustice, that genocide, that natural disaster, or that personal tragedy. Don’t see it as calling you not to care and not be involved.

Instead see if you can engage with it on more than just on a detail level, on the level of what … see it on a level of HOW you engage.

You still engage! But in a different way, on a different level. A level of love and not fear. Hope and not hopelessness. Energy and not despondency.

Nourish love and hope and gratitude in the garden of your own soul and look through those lenses.

Don’t let fear win.

Choose first for your foundation, then tackle the incoming of life.

Maybe, just maybe – and this isn’t for me, or anyone, to tell you – but maybe there’s a silver lining in that cloud that you can’t see because you’re so close.

So step back. Widen and be open. You’ll have a better chance at finding it then.

And hey –

You’re amazing. Keep going well. And, as always, let me know how I can help.
