The power of just beginning, again

One thing I get asked a lot about with meditation/mindfulness/spiritual practice is about the nuts and bolts, the mechanics, the how-to do it.

When, where, what … and they’re all very good questions. But once answered to some degree, just get into a practice, however and whatever. Set up a routine, have a vehicle to return your attention to, and be innocent and curious with the process.

Just play. You can’t do it wrong. Meditation techniques certainly aren’t created equal; there are indeed smoother and clunkier, but beginning something is everything.

In this fast-paced world, just stopping is huge. Stepping back from your to-do list and the washing machine of your mind. Devoting some time and space to not chase a single thing, but completely allow everything. Going within so you can go beyond.

Learning not to go faster but deeper is a key part of a more satisfying life.

As is learning how you create your reality; that you get to decide how you live, and you define what you experience.

Most of all, connecting back to the altar of your heart on a consistent basis.

It’s not really about the what, why, when, but remembering that right place within – your sanctuary and foundation – and how that is available all the time, closer than your next breath.

That’s the real reason for any of this!

So simply begin. Again. We’re all beginners, and the more you realise this, the better off you are.

Pause.

Here you will see that you aren’t the whirlwind of life.

You aren’t the thoughts and feelings that come and go.

You aren’t your possessions, your career, your family, or your reputation.

You aren’t your past or what happens next.

Pause.

You are the presence reading this right now: the awareness seeing through the eyes, hearing through the ears.

You are unchanging – the constant, awake, alive awareness of You.

Pause; reacquaint yourself with that.

Play the game of life, but instead of attaching to all that which comes and goes for your happiness and your sense of security, find that within.

Then you’re free with nothing to prove, nothing to hide, nothing to fear.

Right, true, aligned – a wonderful state to be.

Pause regularly and you will see.

If I can help, let me know.

As always, go well.

PS.

The next Ishayas’ Ascension course is 4-6 July (7pm start on the Friday).

Come – it’s sweet and simple and a powerful tool for nourishing, resetting, realigning.

Let me know if you want details.

If you’ve already learnt, remember it’s free to repeat forever. And what a boost it is to reconnect. Be great to see you again.
