Be Whole-assed

My Ishaya teacher has a t-shirt that reads, “Be Whole-assed”.

In other words … don’t be half-assed.

Life is short. Don’t hold back.

Ages ago, I held to the belief. Time was short. And yet I was wasting it. Throwing it away.

I realised I was sleepwalking through much of my life. Gone. Physically in the room, but my brain was elsewhere.

I was so much in another time and another place … worried for a future that I had no control over, pining for a past that was well gone. Reacting poorly, holding grudges for weeks, having imaginary conversations in my head.

I was the opposite of mindful. I was mindless. MIA. Gone.

That’s what gave me a kick up the butt to be consistent with my Ascension meditation practice.

I didn’t want to lose any more life.

Now, so you know:

Don’t trade your lust for life for peace.

You’ll lose out if you do.

This practice, done right, will refine your lust for life. It’ll turn up the volume on the things you love.

You’ll love more, not less. Fully engaged is what happens.

And – the stuff you don’t like so much? You can manage that so much better, or finally say ‘no’ and get rid of it.

Peace and presence is the foundation to be free of the fears of your mind, so you can make every moment excellent –

Where you can experience all of life.

Peace means you can have more, not less.

So keep that in mind because so many believe otherwise. Peace isn’t a handbrake to your life, it’s a springboard.

And that’s why my Ishaya teacher reminds me to be “whole-assed”.

It’s about finding inner and outer excellence: 200% of life.

Because life IS short, and you want to fill your moments with stuff you love and you’re proud of, not mindlessly or reactively crashing your way through.

Tattoo that on your brain!

And go well,

Arjuna
