The Deeper Current

"People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't think that's what we're really seeking. I think what we're seeking is an experience of being alive."

— Joseph Campbell

The happiest periods of my life was when I was truly alive. The worst, I was merely living. There's a profound difference between the two — and most of us know it, even if we can't quite name it.

I speak to a lot of people who have genuinely good lives that somehow don't add up to the satisfaction they're looking for. It's not that they need more gratitude, or a bigger goal, or a better morning routine.

There's something else missing. A deeper current.

Finding that current — actually connecting with it — is the chief task, I'd say. Without it, nothing else quite fills the gap. With it, it doesn't matter so much what you have or what's being thrown at you. You have somewhere to stand.

This is, at its heart, a spiritual journey — though not in any way that's forced, weird, or ungrounded.

It's spiritual in the way that standing on a mountain at dawn is spiritual. In the way that being fully present with someone you love is spiritual. In the way that flow states are spiritual — that sense of something moving through you rather than being produced by you.

And here's the thing: it's closer than your next breath. It's what you are when you stop being lost in what you think.

When the mental static clears, you find a field of awareness — a quality of rightness, of wonder that arises not because something extraordinary is happening, but because you're actually here for what is.

Timeless. Alive.

The best version of yourself not as an achievement, but as what's naturally there when the noise settles.

That's the whole point of what I teach.

To help you find what's missing — and what it feels like to be truly alive, reliably, not just in the good moments.
