The Secret Sauce

One of the weirdest things humans do is take their most valued and important things for granted.

Your partner and your family – for example.

We’re around them all day long, even more so under lockdown, and so we “skim” them …

By skim I mean treat with a minimum of attention because there’s always something more urgent to attend to – and they’ll be there later, they’ll always be there, right?

You live a busy life, as do I, with countless urgent things to do and so it’s easy to fill our attention.

Spend wisely, I say, because you win.

When you’re truly present with your people, the relationships really come alive. They get more satisfying, more exciting. You also become the person you would like to be in a relationship with … you get kinder, nicer, more appreciative, understanding and interesting.

And regardless of your situation, being a person you like is a wonderful feeling to go to sleep with.

Everything is better when you’re present to it.

It’s a kind of investing, it's a creative, nourishing act. What you give your attention to, flourishes.

Try it – it’s almost as if the thing you’re doing gets imbued with a certain life force or even magic, simply because you are fully involved in it. Anything and everything: your people, cooking, music, reading, exercise, stretching, work …

It’s the secret sauce.

I know it’s tempting to do 2 or 3 things at once. But the tasks suffer, and so do you. Life becomes blander, a busy wash of haste and the mediocre.

You don’t want that. You want aliveness. With your full attention, it’s impossible to be bored or or bland or stressed. True.

So give it a shot – what have you got to lose?

Apart from the frazzle from trying to multi-task and some half-arsed connections with life, that is.

Go well,

Arjuna

PS.

I did a little video about forgetting in Ascension and meditation, and being impatient and frustrated.

Here’s the link if you want to see it

(it’s about 4mins long - which I figure is short enough not to take forever, and long enough to give you something)

By the way:

If you ever have a question, just hit me up … I’d love to help.

Maybe I can make a video about it too.

And thank you for reading this, you’re awesome.
