All is well – but only right now

“Don’t suffer twice”.

Well howdy! How’s things with you?

I was giving a workshop recently.

Talk is cheap, but experience – I think – is everything,

So I got everyone to stop and really tune into the moment.

Not just “yeah yeah-ing” and paying Now lip service, but truly experiencing the depths of their presence in the moment.

Maybe you want to do this too, right now?

Pause … really pause … and fully bring all your attention back to the centre of this moment.

Now –

I asked them – and I’ll ask you –

“Do you need anything right now? Is there anything missing, right now?”

The answer was overwhelmingly, “Nope – all is good, all is well, all is simple, nothing is needed”.

As I confirmed that no one could find something lacking in the presence of Now, a guy piped up:

“Well, all IS well … but only right now.”

You see, he was struggling with a tough life situation, big time –

He could find peace now, but when he went back into what had happened and projected forward into what might happen, it was a stinking, sore mess.

And that was the whole point.

That’s what I wanted to show everyone.

Regardless of what has happened or what might happen, all is ALWAYS well right now.

But –

If you can choose to bring your attention to a time and inner space where all is well, why not do it?

Why go into a place where you’re more or less adrift in a sea of struggle and suffering?

If it’s madness and mayhem out there, you need to conserve your energies, you need to find peace where you can.

Don’t fritter that away when you don’t need to.

If it’s gonna hurt, don’t hurt yourself prematurely … right?

As our man Seneca once advised, “Don’t suffer twice”.

And as we were reflecting on this, someone noted: the thought of hard work is so much harder than doing the hard work.

Which is so true, isn’t it?

It applies not only to cleaning the toilet and doing your accounts or going for a run (pick your poison here), but difficult situations too.

Difficulties are made so much greater in our minds and emotions than the step by step living of them.

Therefore, I say –

Find this inner sanctuary; learn to live there.

It’s not cheating. It’s not avoidance. It’s not spiritual bypassing.

Deal with what you need to when you need to deal with it –

But don’t let your brain drag you under unnecessarily.

Find this sanctuary of Now.

Practice so you overcome your habit of leaving to scratch at the scab of suffering.

Ouch.

Learn to train your brain to the present moment.

I’d say it’s necessary for you to live life fully and make the difference you want to make.

Alrighty?

This is what I do.

Get in touch if you want to know more on how to master your mind.

I’d love to chat and help out where I can.

Go well!

PS.

My favourite method for mastering your mind is Ascension meditation.

The last course for 2023 is in a touch over 2 weeks

10-12 November (starts 7pm Friday)

If you’re vaguely interested, take it as a sign to get in touch.

Despite countless friends telling me I should learn, that I would love it, I resisted for years. Until I didn’t and I instantly wished I learned sooner.

Do reply or msg me and I’ll get back to you asap with details.
