Learning to take things a little less seriously

Before we jump into this week’s musings, I have a free training for you on how to be more mindful and live a more fun, focussed and calm life.

I tried to fill it with all kinds of tips and tricks and things to do, but have a look and let me know what you thought.

Consider it a late Christmas present, or such. Enjoy!

I was saying recently that most mornings – when it’s not holidays, ya ha! – I trot alongside the kids on their scooters as we go to school.

It’s a trip I love. Spending time with the little rascals as well as just Sumati and I, catching up.

Of all the faces we pass, I love the small kids the most.

Unless they’re knackered, they’re full of excitement and curiosity and possibility and play (or mischievousness).

The adults … less so.

I send some love, some kindness, try and connect in the form of a smile or some words,

But –

What happened when we got older?

I get that we have responsibilities and deadlines and to-do lists, we have history that weighs us down.

But what happened to the sense of play, of curiosity that we had when we were little?

Did it get ground down and beaten out of us?

Did we over think and worry and hold grudges and all of that so much we just forgot?

Did we get so exhausted and overloaded we got burnt out, with no spark?

And maybe – definitely – we just didn’t make it a priority.

We just forgot how fun life could be (supposed to be?) even in the middle of it all.

Do you think you could get it back?

Do you think you would WANT to get it back?

What do you reckon?

I know you might well be in the middle of some kind of break, and with the end of the year coming and all that, it’s a nice time, a good time, to take stock.

So –

What do you reckon?

Even if you’re having a tough time of late, bring back even a little of that sense of play you used to have.

I can tell you this for sure – it won’t hinder you in doing the things you need to do, it’ll help. So much.

Have the intention to be a little more curious, and make sure you take today a little less seriously than you did yesterday.

And actually, thank you –

This is one of the ways you can make a real difference … in your own life, and the life of all your people.

This is how you get through this in great shape. This is how you become the lighthouse:

Someone who inspires. A rock where people can lean on until they get afloat again. A place of sanctuary and remembering.

And it all starts with your example, so thank you.

Go well!

Consider coming to learn Ascension with me in the new year.

Come and plug in again. Come and remember! I’ve also got a fine 5 day advanced retreat coming up in September you might be interested in too.)

I think Ascension are the greatest tools for remembering how to be the best version of you:

Full of energy, aliveness, calm, curious, focussed with a great sense of humour.
