Why calm is the best thing ever

“Whoever values peace of mind and the health of the soul will live the best of all possible lives.”

Would you like to have even a little more calm and composure in your life?

A little more peace, a little more ease?

Well, before we get stuck into how you can have more calm even in the middle of the busiest life, here’s an important question for you.

(This is useful, trust me … go with it).

Do you know why you don’t have the calm you want at the moment?

Why …

It’s because you don’t prioritise it.

And do you know why you don’t prioritise it?

Because …

You don’t really realise how important, even crucial it is.

Our man Marcus Aurelius thousands of years ago noted that the nearer one “comes to a calm mind, the closer they are to strength”.

Calm = clarity.

Clarity is the ability to see things as they are.

Not to be swayed by every passing random worry, fear and frustration, but to see them for what they are. Passing wind. Truly!

Clear thinking is effective thinking. It’s easy thinking. You’re not burden by what you can’t control.

So –

Clarity = wisdom and intuition.

The Serenity Prayer sketches out the fundaments of a Good life:

“Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

The courage to change the things I can,

Wisdom to know the difference.”

Wisdom is so important.

It means we can be effective. It means we can meet the need of the moment. It means we can be creative with the cards we’re dealt.

We all have wisdom and intuition, it’s just that often we just don’t listen. And/or our minds are so busy, carried away by the events of another moment, the signal isn’t that clear.

Calm = Clear thinking = Clear signal = Wisdom and intuition = a life filled with Good and Great.

And wisdom all comes from being calmer, more present.

You see?

Calm is crucial to you being effective in life, and enjoying all of it.

It’s so important.

Now, since it’s one of THE life skills you can acquire, how are you going to prioritise and practice being more calm?

That is the question.

But I think you’ll put a lot more emphasis on it now you know what a key piece of the puzzle it is. You’ll notice yourself not being calm sooner and be able to return quicker.

Which is a great thing, is it not? Enjoy your calm.

Go well!
